Abstract
遁倫의 『瑜伽論記』에는 新·舊 유식학자들의 이역본 연구 성과들이 집대성되어 있 다. 이 중에서 圓測의 해석은 특히 「本地分」 중 「菩薩地」의 주석에 집중적으로 인용 되어 있고, 이곳은 『地持經』·『善戒經』이라는 구역 별행본이 존재하는 구간이다. 이 곳에 인용된 원측의 해석들을 검토해본 결과, 唐代 『유가론』 이역본 연구에서 원측 의 위상 및 특징을 발견할 수 있었다.  우선, 눈에 띠는 것은 원측이 「보살지」의 두 종류 이역본들에 대해 동등한 경전적  권위를 부여한 점이다. 이것은 다른 주석가들이 「보살지」의 해석에서 그것과 거의 유 사한 『지지경』만을 주로 참고하였고 『선계경』을 거의 언급하지 않았던 점에 비추어 볼  때 원측만의 이례적 태도라 할 수 있다. 원측은 두 경전을 유식학의 주요한 교리 해석 의 전거로서 동등하게 함께 인용하거나, 나아가 『선계경』을 전거로 삼아서 「보살지」의  문구에 대한 독자적 해석을 내놓기도 한다.  또 원측은 신역 「보살지」의 ‘五種性說’을 교리적으로 정당화하는 일차적 전거로 구역  『지지경』과 『선계경』을 적극 활용하였다. 그런데 이것은 그가 ‘五性各別說’과 ‘一切皆成 說’ 중 전자를 지지했음을 뜻하지 않는다. 그는 신역의 五種性說을 정설로 수용하면서 도 ‘無種性’의 成佛 여부를 둘러싼 논쟁과 관련해서는 여전히 해석의 여지를 남겨놓았 다. 그에 따르면, 『瑜伽論』이나 『楞伽經』처럼 五種性을 설한 경론들 내에서도 ‘無種性’ 의 문제와 관련해서는 전자의 ‘不成’과 후자의 ‘皆成’이라는 관점의 차이가 존재한다.
