Abstract
This study aims to explore the difference between the language learning beliefs of learners learning Korean in a non-target language environment and the language learning beliefs caused by learner variables. In this study, 477 Korean language learners in China were surveyed on language learning beliefs. According to the survey results, Korean learners in China have a neutral attitude towards Korean as a simple language, has strong confidence and determination in Korean learning, and has high expectations for Korean learning. Although learners believe that personal foreign language talents exist, they also recognize the importance of effort and goals. Learners focus on accuracy and are not afraid of making mistakes. They believe that they can learn Korean through cultural study, repetition, reading, recitation, dialogue, listening exercises, and reading exercises. In addition, the survey results also show that learners' gender, first choice or not and study abroad experience can trigger differences in language learning beliefs. These findings will provide useful information for the planning of language courses for Korean learners in China.
