현대시에 나타난 갯벌의 상상력과 그 시적 특징

Abstract

This paper looked into the representation and features of tidal flats in Korean marine ecology poetry. As reported the features and values of the tidal land in the academic community, the preservation and interest of the tidal flats are increased in recent years. Moreover, Korea tidal flats are included in that of the World's five and are met the sufficient conditions of conservation value in terms of all mankind. The poetry of tidal flats can be characterized as three types. First, it can be grouped into 'the place of life and labor, and the ambivalence of economic logic'. Tidal flats provide the place of life to humans and are shaping variously as the site of hard life, the joy of harvest, the place of hope, the space of childhood memories. Meanwhile, there is a ambivalence problem between the nature of tidal flats and the economic logic. Second, it is the poetry symbolizing the 'recovery resilience' of life. Tidal flats give recovery resilience, the power of restoration to the human in various forms. It sometimes symbolized as a compass telling the way of life or a prop, and sometimes expressed as a power purifying the difficulties and hardships. In addition, it symbolizes uncivilized shapes just as it was, and throw 'the aesthetics of slowness' to the selfish human civilization. Also, it provides the religious mercy and enlightenment in tidal flats, gives a living force by remembering the longing. Like these, the recovery resilience are shaped variously. Third, it shows various characteristic revealing 'the windpipe of life, water way, biodiversity'. The life force substituted with the windpipe of life and water way means the various existence of living organisms as the number of holes in tidal flats. Above all, a wide range of tidal creatures is in itself a symbol of vitality. Finally, the significance of this research can be said announcing the start of study in the Korean marine ecology poetry.
