- Abstract
- This study aimed to investigate the concept of talent and the educational objectives by the corelife competencies of university students. For this purpose, all of the web sites of universities wereresearched by using the keywords “competency,” “leadership”,” and “career,” and the contents of theconcept of talent and the educational objectives were collected on 154 web sites related to leadershipcompetencies. The contents of the concept of talent and the educational objectives were analyzedthrough Co-Word Analysis and NodeXL to show the significance of the core keywords of lifecompetencies for university students. The results showed that characteristics such as ethicality andsocial service are emphasized for the concept of talent, and executive competencies such asprofessionalism and creativity are highlighted for the educational objectives. Then, the keywordsrelated to attitude were the most frequent in both the concept of talent and the educationalobjectives among knowledge, skill and attitude, which are the basic categories of core lifecompetencies. Finally, the contents of the concept of talent and the educational objectives werecompared with the subcategories of communicative competency, synthetic thinking, competency inusing resources, global competency, self-management, and interpersonal competency of lifecompetencies to visualize the relation with the concept of talent and the educational objectives. Theresults show that interpersonal competency, synthetic thinking, competency in using resources,self-management, global competency, and other, in this order, were selected for the concept oftalent. Meanwhile, interpersonal competency, competency in using resources, synthetic thinking,self-management, global competency, other and communicative competency, in this order, wereselected for the educational objectives.
