- Abstract
- The emergence of woven electronic textiles, commonly referred to as e-textiles, has revolutionized the integration of electronic functionalities into traditional textiles, paving the way for innovative applications in healthcare, energy, and wearable technology. This paper presents a comprehensive review of advancements in manufacturing techniques for woven e-textiles, with a particular emphasis on weaving technologies, conductive materials, and embedding methodologies. Key innovations, such as multi-layer weaving, modified loom systems, and integration of electronic components, are examined in the context of scalability, durability, and functional performance. Furthermore, the paper addresses critical challenges in achieving seamless electronic-textile integration, such as balancing structural flexibility with electronic performance, optimizing material properties, and ensuring environmental sustainability. By synthesizing recent developments and exploring future directions, this work underscores the pivotal role of weaving as a scalable and efficient method for producing high-performance e-textiles, enabling their adoption in diverse industrial and consumer applications.
