- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception types and characteristics of rehabilitation counselors for the disabled, social workers, graduates of special classes of ordinary high school and parents with developmental disabilities in their third grade on career and vocational education for youth with developmental disabilities by using Q methodology. Therefore, this study sampled 40 statements on career and vocational education for youth with developmental disabilities. Qsorting was conducted by 24 people on rehabilitation counselors and social workers from vocational support team on the disabled welfare center, and disabled rehabilitation counselors and social workers from employment support organizations for the developmentally disabled, and graduates of special classes in general high schools and parents of children with developmental disabilities in their third year of school. And the data were analyzed using the QUANL-PC program. As a result of the study, five types of perceptions about career and vocational education for youth with developmental disabilities were derived. Type 1- education type by disability characteristics, type 2- education type by life cycle, type 3- employment-linked education type, type 4- education promotion type with vocational expert, and type 5- individual conversion type. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that it will serve as the basic data for the establishment of career and vocational education support system as well as the development of career and vocational education programs at the time of transition from school age to adulthood for youth with developmental disabilities.
