Abstract
This paper introduces an approach to revise a standard projector system into a touch screen system that is not dependent on sensor position. While interactive whiteboards (IWBs) are commonly used for meetings and lectures, new equipment is often required to provide touch screen functionality. Some researchers have attempted to apply the touch function to existing projectors by using cameras. However, a sensor must be mounted to a beam projector as the integrated type, owing to the limits of the existing coordinate correction method. In this study, a touch function has been implemented using a standard projector, and without the need for beam projectors, by utilizing a different correction approach. As a result, this study demonstrated the feasibility of applying advanced touch screen functionality to existing projection equipment. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2015.
