- Abstract
- 본 연구는 2015년 전국 1,115개 농협지역조합에서 실시된 동시조합장선거 자료를 토대로조합장선거의 당락요인을 분석한다. 농협조합장선거는 그 자체의 중요성은 물론, 다른 공직선거로서의 경쟁가설을 검증하기 위한 실험의 장(a testing bed)으로의 가능성에도 그간 적절히활용되지 못했다. 특히, 조합장선거만의 동질적 유권자가 갖는 특성과 위탁선거라는 제약적 환경이 만든 독특한 실험의 장은 정당, 국가경제 등 외부요인은 물론 선거자금 및 조직 등의 요인의 영향을 사전 차단(ex-ante control)함으로서 연구의 주요가설인 후보자 요인과 당선 가능성의 관계를 추정하기에 적합한 환경을 제공한다. 다중회귀분석 결과 후보자 요인 중 현직효과와 조합장 경력이 선거에서의 당선가능성을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 정보의 측면에서 동질적인 유권자를 전제로, 위탁선거라는 제약적 선거운동 규제 하에 발현된 현직효과는 다양한 시사점을 제공한다.
