Abstract
This is a research paper analyzing a house appeared in modern poetry through the ecological perspective and considering its meaning. To understand poet's ecological world view, the poet's thoughts, perceptions and experiences are important keyword. In ecology house and living space simply does not mean that living in the building. The inherent concept and meaning implied in the house includes life, human, and things around. This is a characteristic revealed commonly in traditional ecology and depth ecology. In this paper, the meaning of ecological house is extracted after divided into four poetic features seen from ecological point of view. First, house will lead a basic human lives throughout the residence. This refers to ecological house space and residences emasculated the economic and capitalistic desire. Second, the house is a reservoir of inner growth and emotional space. This means that the house provides the ecological imagination and dynamics of emotions, so that home allows humans to mentally grow soundly. Moreover, life in such a home becomes a source to form an ecological world view. Third, the home is not present only in a building itself, but means having a mutual relationship co-existing with each other and those of the surrounding space. This is a ecological point of view commonly exposed in traditional and depth ecology, and has meaning in that it also offers the possibility of ecological architecture. Fourth, the house means to leave, or the dismantling and absence of ecological life. This means that no human being can live in house that does not exist in nature. At the same time, it has something in common with the first feature and reveals a contrasting look. Finally, this research has the meanings as the beginning of a full-scale study on the space in ecological perspective and has significance in that it has expanded the scope of ecological literature research.
