Abstract
This research measures the optimal proportions for the facial features of five members of the cat family: lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, and domestic cats. Focusing on the eyes, nose, and mouth of each animal, the optimal proportions were examined to determine the optimal space between both eyes and the vertical and horizontal distances. First, actual images of cats (viz., lions, tigers, leopards, cheetahs, and domestic cats) were obtained from a Google Image search, with which the eyes, nose, and mouth of the cats were measured. Next, the optimal proportions were derived for the horizontal and vertical distances in each of the five mammals. © 2016 SERSC.
