- Abstract
- This study investigated how college students' sports participation and social media use relate to college attachment and their psychological well-being. An online survey was administered to 580 undergraduate students. Findings revealed that sports participation was positively related with social media use and college attachment, which in turn increases individuals' psychological well-being. This study offers empirical evidence of the mediating role social media use plays in the relationship among sport participation, college attachment, and well-being. The findings contribute to further understanding about the mechanisms by which sports participation leads to psychological well-being through social media use. (C) 2017 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
