- Abstract
- In this study, when one side of a rectangular tank filled with water is composed of a flexible rectangular plate, the eigenvalue problem was derived by considering the coupling effect of sloshing and fluid-structure interaction, and the natural frequency and the natural mode shape were calculated from it. For the analysis, the assumed mode method and energy approach were used. According to the analysis results, if the sloshing frequency and the natural frequency of the structure differ greatly, the coupled effect is very insignificant and can be ignored in the analysis. When the natural frequencies of the two are close together, coupled motion occurs, so it should be considered in the analysis. But since most of them correspond to high-order sloshing frequencies, it can be ignored in engineering analysis. © 2023 Proceedings of the International Congress on Sound and Vibration.
