Abstract
This paper proposes full-bridge resonant dc/dc converter that can operate above threshold load. Conventional full-bridge resonant converter employing T-type cell on the secondary side of the circuit experiences very high current spike at T-type cell when the load exceeds its threshold. By incorporating clamp diodes across the resonant capacitors, we have removed the high current spike occurred at the secondary-side power components. In addition, the proposed converter attains fully zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn-off at the secondary-side switches above threshold load. Experimental results are presented to validate the theoretical data. © 2023 The Korean Institute of Power Electronics.
