- Abstract
- The effects of total substitution of Cobalt (Co) by Titanium (Ti) on the oxygen uptake capacities and oxygen adsorption kinetics of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-d (LSCoF) perovskite-type oxides were investigated by thermal analysis. The novel La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-d (LSTiF) perovskite-type oxides were studied in attempts to obtain higher oxygen sorption capacities. The nature of the transition metals clearly affects the oxygen uptake capacities. In both perovskite-type oxides, an increase of temperature from 700 degrees C to 900 degrees C increases the oxygen update capacity but with a substitution of Cobalt by Titanium in LSCoF, the oxygen adsorption capacity decreases to about 2 mug at 900 degrees C.
