- Abstract
- This report establishes the casual relationship between the socialization of sports and the students’ participation in sports. Especially, this report analyses the reltaive effect of university students’sports socialization experience on the participation rate and commitment of sportsT. he report used Sampling with targeting 400 university students (338 males & 62 females) who live in Seoul city. In specific, the report confined those students who are members of sports sororities in universities in Seoul city. Among 400 targets, 396 people participated in the survey and 385 of their results were used. From those inputs and processes, the report concluded as follows. First, the sports socialization experiences increase the university students’ intervention on sports.
Second, the sports socialization experiences increase the university students’ participation in sports. Third, the sports socialization experiences increase behavioral participation rate. Fourth, the sports socialization experiences increase perceptual participation rate. Fifth, the sports socialization experiences increase definitional participation rate. In other words, the more those students had participated sports activities at school in childhood, experience favorable moments of sports or being asked to participate in sports by acquaintances, the more the participation rate increases with perceiving the fact that the sports activity they currently participate in is not waste of time and brings them great joy. In addition, those students regard the participation in sports as different kind of taking rest. From those results, the paper cnocludes that the experiences of sports socializ-a tion have an effect on the participation rate in sports. In short, if the students experience favorable moments of sports and being asked to participate in sports in their early ages, they can be community members with great mentality and body.
