- Abstract
- It is pointed out that palace style in our country has been treated as an exterior architecture style instead of space pattern in architectural history and has lost its utility. Nevertheless, while meeting both a city and nature, the palace style has antinomical spatial character that it separates and joins them all together at the same time. In addition, such a palace style was used not only for universities but also for hospitals. Palace style which was used for universities or hospitals showed diversified transformations according to changes in circumstances; among such transformations, some of them are still used with affection of users while the others are replaced by another formation theory without continuance. Therefore, this thesis intended to understand exact meaning and formation theory included in the palace style and then to look into meaning of transformation of university and hospital which borrowed the palace style. Namely, based on understanding of the palace style and meaning of transformation, this thesis aims to discover an application clue of future urban campus plan and number.
