Aime & Scopes

  • Korean Journal of Family Medicine (KJFM) is an open access, peer-reviewed, online-only general medical journal published in English bimonthly on the 20th of odd months (January, March, May, July, September, and November: 6 times per year), which is an official journal of the Korean Academy of Family Medicine. KJFM’s main aim is to provide up-to-date evidence-based medical knowledge and high-quality continuing medical education for family physicians, primary care clinicians, researchers, students, and policy makers. KJFM offers its readership an international view of the problems and preoccupations in the field, while providing a medium of instruction and exploration. KJFM mainly publishes original articles, narrative reviews, systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis, case reports, letters, editorials, and brief communications covering a broad range of interests related with the field of family medicine such as clinical management of common primary diseases (e.g., dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, etc.), health promotion (e.g., smoking cessation, quitting drinking, exercise, lifestyle modification, etc.), cancer prevention and early detection, travel medicine, geriatrics, nutrition and diet, epidemiology, education (medical students, residents in family medicine, patients, etc.), medical ethics, health care system, etc., all of which ultimately will assist family physicians in primarycare. In addition to members of the KJFM, any researchers throughout the world can submit a manuscript if the scope of the manuscript is appropriate. KJFM makes it a priority to keep the entire process of submission, review, and publication as speedy as possible while maintaining the best of international standards of rigor. Therefore, KJFM offers online manuscript submission for rapid peer-review and communication with authors.
