- GLIA is a peer-reviewed journal, which publishes articles dealing with all aspects of glial structure and function. This includes all aspects of glial cell biology in health and disease. Launched in 1988, GLIA quickly rose to its current position as the number one journal in glial research. The journal publishes both original research articles and critical review papers; authors interested in contributing a review-type article should contact the Editorial Office to discuss the scope of the proposed article with the Editors-in-Chief. In addition to regular issues, the journal also publishes Special Issues on hot topics within glial research, or assembles collections of related published papers in Virtual Issues.
