The findings are summarized as follows: This paper compares and analyzes the Kana Notations of the Rhyme Group Xie(蟹) across four editions of the Shyubun-Inryaku, referencing both Kan’on and Go’on sources. The findings are summarized as follows: The first open rhyme Hai(咍) and Tai(泰) predominantly appear in the –ai type across the four editions of Shyubun-Inryaku, making it difficult to distinguish between Kan’on and Go’on based solely on Kana Notations. However, [ガイ] in Yi(疑), [ガイ] in Xia(匣), [バイ] in Bing(並) are classifiable as Go’on. In contrast, [ナイ] in Ni(泥) is classifiable as Kan’on, while [タイ] and [ダイ] are classifiable as Kan’on. The first rounded rhyme Hui(灰) and Tai(泰) appear in both -(w)ai and -ai type across all four editions. For instance, [マイ] is classifiable as Go’on, whereas [タイ], [ダイ], and [ハイ/バイ] are classifiable as Kan’on. The second open rhyme Jie(皆), Jia(佳), and Guai(夬) primarily appear in the -ai type across all editions. In Jie(皆), [ガイ] in Xia(匣) is classifiable as Go’on, while [カイ] is classifiable as Kan’on. In Jia(佳), [マイ] is classifiable as Go’on, and [ハイ/バイ] are classifiable as Kan’on. The second rounded rhyme Jie(皆), Jia(佳), and Guai(夬) are mostly recorded in the -(w)ai type, though some -ai type appear, especially in Guai(夬). Differentiation is difficult based solely on phonetic form. In Jie(皆), [バイ/ハイ] in Ming(明) are classifiable as Kan’on. In Jia(佳), [クワ] in Xia(匣) is classifiable as Kan’on. In Guai(夬), [バイ] in Bing(並) and [マイ] in Ming(明) are classifiable as Go’on. The third open rhyme Ji(祭) A type, B type, and Fei(廢) are all mainly recorded in the –ei type. Fei(廢) also includes –ai type, making the distinction ambiguous. In Ji(祭) B type, [ケイ] in Xi(溪) is classifiable as Kan’on. In the A type, [セイ] in Chan(禪) is classifiable as Kan’on. The third rounded rhyme Ji(祭) A type, B type, and Fei(廢) appear primarily in the -ei type across all editions. The Fei(廢) rhyme includes -ai types as well. In Ji(祭) B type,[セイ] in Xin(心) is classifiable as Kan’on in the Bunmei edition, whereas [サイ] is classifiable as Go’on. The fourth open rhyme Ji(齊) appears mainly in -ei and -ai types in all four editions. [ベイ米] is classifiable as Kan’on, while [メイ] with the Ming (明) is classifiable as Go’on. The fourth rounded rhyme Ji(齊) appears uniformly in the –ei type. Differentiation is difficult by Kana Notations alone. However, [ケイ] in Xia(匣) is classifiable as Kan’on.
