초록
This study aims to provide educational implications for modern writing education by comprehensively reviewing previous studies on the writings of Buddhist figures and analyzing their patterns and characteristics. As a research method, 28 relevant papers published between 2000 and 2024 were selected through literature analysis and examined according to year, academic field, historical period, writing subject, and genre. The analysis revealed that the writings of Buddhist figures have diversified over time in terms of subject and genre. These writings can be categorized into types such as Hwajaeng(和諍) writing, writing as balance and Iryujunghaeng(異類中行), writing as social practice, writing oriented toward the public and organically connected, writing utilizing various persuasive strategies, and writing aimed at editing and the realization of Mua(無我). These types can be linked to educational tasks such as writing that fosters integrated thinking, socially engaged writing, writing for communication with the public, and writing for self-reflection and practice. Based on this, the study proposes writing tasks suitable for elementary, middle, and high school levels. This research is significant in that it suggests the potential of applying the philosophical and practical values inherent in the writings of Buddhist figures to contemporary education.
