지영희에 관한 학술 동향 연구: 시기, 기관, 주제, 방법 중심으로

Purpose: This study examines 70 research papers on Ji Young-hee published between 1980 and 2026. Itaims to provide a diachronic analysis of the academic reception and developmental trends of researchon Ji Young-hee, identify patterns of bias and universality, and propose future research directions. Methods: Domestic master’s and doctoral dissertations as well as journal articles containing thekeyword “Ji Young-hee” were analyzed based on four criteria—research period, research institution,research topic, and research method—to identify trends. Results: Research on Ji Young-hee consistsof 10 doctoral dissertations, 49 master’s theses, and 11 journal articles. Based on publication dates, thisresearch can be divided into an embryonic stage, a leap stage, and an active stage; a total of 28 papers(40%) were published during the active stage in the 2010s. Papers on Ji Young-hee were published by atotal of 25 institutions, including 17 universities and 8 academic societies, with the first paper publishedat Seoul National University in the 1980s. Notably, the Korea National University of Arts published atotal of 17 papers, confirming its role as a major hub for research on Ji Young-hee. Regarding researchtopics, analysis focused on melody emerged as the primary trend among works studies, whereasresearch on music history and education was relatively scarce. In terms of research methods,qualitative research accounted for 91.43%, followed by literature review (7.14%), mixed methods (1.43%),and quantitative research (0%), indicating an absolute bias toward qualitative research in terms ofmethodology. Conclusion: Research on Ji Young-hee must move beyond a structure centered onmaster’s theses and require in-depth studies to expand academic discourse and enhance its quality. Furthermore, it is necessary to expand into various research areas—such as music history, education,transmission, and performance culture—based on organic collaboration between research institutionsand the performing arts field. It was also found that academic expandability and objectivity must besecured through the diversification of research methodologies.
