초록
This study explores South Korean college students' subjectivity on jobs using Q methodology. This study intends to investigate and understand college students' subjectivity on jobs, and to identify the characteristics of each type through grouping of it into types with common features. In addition, we examine the similarities between the individual types derived through this study and Holland’s vocational interest types to use in career coaching for college students. Among a total of 272 Q population collected through related literature review, surveys, and interviews, 33 most representative statements were selected as the final Q samples, and 40 male and female students attending South Korean universities as of 2023 were selected as P samples. The data were analyzed using Quanl. As a result of the study, a total of four types were derived. Type 1 is the ‘achievement-seeking type’. Type 2 is the ‘stability-seeking type’. Type 3 is the ‘aptitude-seeking type’. Type 4 is the 'exploration-seeking type'. Through this study, we hope that college students can redefine their subjective meanings of jobs and set clear values and goals to choose the job they pursue, and help provide effective career coaching for students' career education and job adaptation.
