초록
An individual, team, or organization can experience unexpected challenges, trials, and tribulations, and the ability to recover or bounce back from these challenges is known as resilience. Because resilience is a multilevel concept that spans different levels of individuals, teams, and organizations, measures of resilience at different levels should be empirically distinguishable. However, few studies have compared measures of resilience at different levels. Existing research has focused on individual-level (e.g., employee) resilience, and few studies have addressed measures of team-level resilience. To address this research need, the present study compared one employee resilience instrument (Näswall, Malinen, Kuntz, and Hodliffe 2019) and two team resilience instruments (Meneghel, Salanova, and Martínez 2016; Sharma and Sharma 2016). Data were collected from 498 employees who were enrolled in an online panel with a research firm. The results of the analysis showed that the instruments examined were above universally accepted levels of discriminant and convergent validity and reliability. Researchers who want to measure resilience should be clear about whether they want to measure individual or team-level resilience and choose a measure that fits their purpose.
