연극교육에서의 교호작용(Transaction) 연구

A Study on Transaction in Theater Education

초록

This study aims to investigate Dewey's transaction which claims that creativity can be expressed through the body of theater education based on cognitive science. To this end, first, the core of Dewey's philosophy of experience, transaction, was examined from the perspective of the body. Transaction means that the subject and object in interaction are not separated from each other, but they all change by influencing on each other. Since transaction is possible only through the human body, it can be interpreted as ‘thinking through the body’ from the perspective of cognitive science. Transaction in the process of experience is made up of qualitative thinking because it is premised on continuity. Qualitative thinking is the accumulation of quality in the body, which is a unique characteristic of being directly placed in a situation with the body and expressed again as the body. Dewey said that people can adapt to an unpredictable world by reconstructing experiences based on such qualitative thinking, and as a result, they can acquire life knowledge and grow. Based on this, he analyzed the transaction of the 'making improvisation' in theater education. Transaction, which is the reconstruction of Dewey's experiences in cognitive science, has been objectively proven through the mechanism of the body using memory and the brain function that processes thoughts and actions side by side. To sum up, first, becoming an active subject of experience and reconstructing experience to create a problem-solving method. Second, acquiring new problem-solving knowledge by reconstructing experience through integrated thinking through multilateral imagination of characters and groups. Third, expansion of the body occurs through role experiences outside of the habitual body. Fourth, semanticizing the result of experience and accumulating the acquired knowledge in the body again. As such, it can be seen that theater education can grow into a virtuous cycle structure of transaction through the body. The result of the interaction can be interpreted as creativity, the ability to survive an unpredictable tomorrow. As such, for competency-centered education for creativity, a complete understanding of the body is more important than anything else. Through this study, it is expected that the educational value of transaction through the body of theater education will be studied in various methodologies.
