초록
The purpose of this study is to deepen the understanding of work-related difficulties experienced by performing artists and to identify the types of subjective perceptions they hold toward their work. To achieve this, in-depth interviews were conducted with six performing artists using semi-structured questions to construct the Q population, from which 40 Q statements were selected. Subsequently, 14 performing artists (P-sample) participated in a Q-sorting process using a forced distribution method, and the data were analyzed using the Ken-Q Analysis program. The results revealed three distinct types of perceptions regarding work-related difficulties among performing artists. Type 1, labeled “Immersion and Performance-Oriented,” emphasizes artistic immersion and achievement while experiencing high levels of burden in the process. Type 2, labeled “Economic Stability-Oriented,” prioritizes job security and financial stability over artistic achievement. Type 3, labeled “Institutional Support-Seeking,” recognizes psychological difficulties and structural limitations and emphasizes the need for institutional support. These findings suggest that even within similar work environments, individuals may experience different patterns of difficulties depending on their subjective interpretations. This study contributes to the literature by identifying the subjective perception structures of performing artists and highlights the need for more effective psychological and policy interventions tailored to these differences.
