침입자에 의해 발생하는 공포의 형상화 방식 -설화 <여우 누이>와 영화 <숨바꼭질>을 중심으로-

초록

The space called home is a shelter that protects from external dangers. Also, within it, the family is the basic social community. These two things in common serve as the minimum fence that a person can maintain. The collapse of the home and family, which are like the last shelter, brings about a sense of fear that even the last bastion that protects oneself has disappeared. In particular, the material of external threats entering the interior is a material that has been used countless times in various horror contents. The Korean folktale <Fox Sister> and the movie <Hide and Seek>, which have these characteristics, have a common narrative in which the home, family, and other shelter-like spaces and communities collapse due to the invasion of outsiders. The folktale <Fox Sister> deals with the story of a family being killed one by one by a fox born as a daughter by an old couple who wanted a daughter. The movie <Hide and Seek> is a story that unfolds as rumors about people living in hiding in the house spread and the Seongsu family, who were living an ordinary family, are targeted by a strange man. This study will focus on the narrative structure, characters, and the way in which fear caused by external intruders is depicted in each content, focusing on the folktale <The Fox Sister> and the film <Hide and Seek>. Starting with a comparative analysis of how fear is induced by external intruders, focusing on the fox sister in the folktale <The Fox Sister> and the strange man ‘Joo-hee’ in the film <Hide and Seek>, this study will analyze the formation of fear of invasion and the differences in the objects of fear in each era. Through a comparative analysis of the folktale and the film, this study will study the way in which fear is depicted when an external entity invades a space such as a home or family, which will greatly contribute to future research, including comparative analysis of common textual elements and common textual elements between the folktale and the film.
