노인의 가구형태가 범죄피해경험에 미치는 영향 -사회시설 이용빈도에 의해 조절된 차별경험의 매개효과-

초록

This study aims to explore protective factors to reduce the crime victimization among elderly people who living alone, based on their experiences of discrimination. We would like to propose preventive measures for elderly crime victimization. Using data from the "2020 Elderly Survey," the structural relationship between elderly household types(elderly who living alone), experiences of discrimination, frequency of social facility utilization, and experiences of crime victimization was examined. The analysis results can be summarized as follows; First, the household types of the elderly did not directly influence experiences of crime victimization, but indirectly affected them positively through mediating experiences of discrimination. Second, the frequency of social facility utilization showed a significant moderating effect on the relationship between experiences of discrimination among the elderly and crime victimization. Third, the frequency of social facility utilization significantly moderated the mediating effect of discrimination. Specifically, compared to groups with low utilization, groups with high utilization weakened the positive impact of elderly household types on crime victimization through experiences of discrimination. Fourth, we analyzed the moderated mediating effects by type of social facility, only the frequency of senior community center utilization significantly moderated the mediating effect of discrimination. Based on these results, we suggested solutions reducing social discrimination and activating community center usage among the elderly to prevent crime victimization.
