만해 한용운 디지털 아카이브 기반 데이터 내러티브 교양교육 플랫폼 구축 및 파일럿 적용 연구

초록

The purpose of this study is to propose a strategy for transforming the research on Manhae Han Yong-un and the vast amount of related materials—which have been accumulated in a fragmented manner within various academic disciplines—into an interpretable digital knowledge infrastructure and a platform for liberal arts education. To this end, first, we systematized Manhae-related materials into four categories: secondary sources, chronologies, contemporary associates, and commemoration projects. We then proposed an “interpretive data archive model for modern and contemporary cultural landscapes” that reveals the network of relationships among figures, events, spaces, and keywords through a three-step process of survey and collection, analysis and classification, and metadata database construction. Second, we designed a “Digital Data Narrative Liberal Arts Education Model” to integrate the constructed interpretive data into university classrooms. This model reconceptualizes the core of Manhae’s philosophy into four major categories—freedom and peace, ecology and environment, historical consciousness, and global awareness—and is structured to guide learners through five stages—question generation, data extraction and preprocessing, data classification and organization, visualization, and narrative construction—using a project-based learning(PBL) approach. Third, the proposed educational model was pilot-tested in actual university lectures(N=25), and mixed-methods validation was conducted using paired t-tests and coding analysis of reflective journals. The empirical analysis confirmed that learners’ digital literacy competencies, humanities narrative competencies, and PBL collaboration competencies improved statistically significantly across all variables, thereby demonstrating the model’s practical applicability and educational effectiveness. In conclusion, this study holds significant academic and educational significance in that it establishes a digital foundation for Manhae studies, quantitatively and qualitatively demonstrates the practical feasibility of “humanities and social sciences data pedagogy” based on East Asian Buddhist cultural materials, and provides a methodological framework for reconfiguring cultural heritage as a next- generation educational resource that mediates active knowledge creation and public utilization.
