The tight monetary policy stance of the United States and the unprecedented rate of interest rate hikes are affecting all global asset market prices. The first market to be hit by this is the digital asset market, which has been affected by the Tera-Luna crisis and the FTX bankruptcy, revealing problems with crisis management and lack of compliance. This is likely to affect the pace of regulatory adoption in the global digital asset market. Accordingly, this article will examine global regulatory trends through reports on the FSOC, Biden's executive order, and stablecoin-related reports, and then discuss domestic regulatory trends and implications. First, in terms of the direction of regulation of the domestic digital asset market, the government is pushing for a basic law to regulate unfair transactions after passing staged legislation, including issuance and disclosure. In the case of stablecoins, it is expected to keep pace with global regulations. In addition, in the case of the digital asset joint council of the five major Korean currency exchanges, it is evaluated that they are deriving common principles to establish an autonomous market surveillance function, which contributes significantly to the establishment of market order and investor protection. Under these circumstances, considering the current state of the domestic system and the direction of future regulation, the digital asset industry should make efforts to overcome the current reputation crisis through concrete innovation.
