초록
Despite growing recognition that extreme heat waves, cold snaps, droughts, floods, wildfires driven by climate change pose serious threats to human livelihoods and survival, the adoption of low-carbon consumer behaviors aimed at reducing carbon emissions remains limited. To address this issue, this study examines the influence of consumers' perceptions of climate crisis risks and low-carbon consumer learning on their low-carbon food behaviors. This research is grounded in the Transtheoretical Model, which emphasizes the necessity of recognizing change and adequately preparing for behavioral transformation. To investigate these relationships, data were collected through an online survey of 1,000 adult consumers aged 18 to 65. The findings indicate that while climate crisis risk perception was above average, levels of low-carbon consumer learning and low-carbon food behavior were generally lower than the perceived risk of the climate crisis. Climate crisis risk perception positively influenced both low-carbon consumer learning and low-carbon food behavior. Low-carbon consumer learning had a significant positive effect on low-carbon food behavior. However, the impact of climate crisis risk perception on low-carbon food behavior was weaker than that of low-carbon consumer learning. These findings suggest that policies promoting low-carbon consumption should prioritize education and information dissemination to better equip consumers for behavioral change.
