Electrochemically selective determination of a fever drug acetaminophen using CoMoO4/reduced graphene oxide composite

This article presents the synthesis of cobalt molybdate/reduced graphene oxide (CoMoO4/rGO) composite for the electrochemical determination of acetaminophen (AP). Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the CoMoO4 nanoparticles, averaging 10 nm in diameter, were distributed on the rGO surface. The composite modified electrode exhibited a commendable linear AP concentrations range from 1 to 275 μM, with a detection limit of 0.021 μM and a sensitivity of 0.64 μA/μM/cm2. The sensor exhibited remarkable selectivity, and the current generated for the interferences was minimal. The spiked AP in the urine and paracetamol drug samples was retrieved with remarkable efficacy utilizing the composite modified electrode. © 2026 Elsevier B.V.
