청허계(淸虛系) 내부의 교파(敎派)와 선파(禪派)분화설에 대한 비판적 검토 -사명 유정(四溟 惟政)과 편양 언기(鞭羊 彦機)의 선교관(禪敎觀) 및 법통(法統) 인식 비교를 통하여-

초록

Samyeong Yujeong and Pyeonyang Eongi are Cheongheo Hyujeong’s representative disciples. Theirstudentsformed two majorsectsinCheongheo’s disciple group, called Samyeongpa and Pyeonyangpa. In some later records, Samyeongpa was classified as Gyopa(the doctrinal and theoretical sect), while Pyeonyangpa was regarded as Seonpa(the meditative and practicing sect). We inferred the background of classification of Seonpa and Gyopa and critically examined its validity through comparing Samyeong and Pyeonyang’s view of Seon-Gyo and perception of dharma lineage in this study. On the relationship between Seon and Gyo, both of them considered combination of Seon with Gyo important. Nevertheless, while Samyeong did not clarify the view of the superiority and inferiority between Seon and Gyo, Pyeonyang emphasized the relative advantage of Seon. In terms of dharma lineage, it is in common that they accepted the pedigree Cheongheo stated and also expressed the consciousness of successing Linji school. However, there is the difference between the theory of dharma lineage originated from Naong which was raised by Samyeong’s disciples and the other one originated from Taego which was claimed by Pyeonyang. These differences between two masters may have served as factors that led to the distinction with Gyopa and Seonpa. That distinction connotes the intetion to emphasize Pyeonyang is the legitimate heir of Cheongheo.
