어플라이드 시어터의 치유적 특성 연구: 사이코드라마와 연극치료의 ‘역할’ 개념을 중심으로

Focusing on Applied Theater’s pursuit of a social role, this study identifies the healing potential of Applied theater applied to individuals and communities based on the Korean performance cases of <Sookja’s Story>, and <Hamlet Only for Nine Days> In particular, the social function of applied the- ater was discussed, focusing on the concept of “role” in psychodrama and theater therapy. Psychodrama and role in theater therapy share a core foundation in that they both explore the in- dividual's inner world and promote psychological healing. Role-playing allows individuals to recreate difficult real-life situations in a safe environment, which allows them to form new perspectives and reach ultimate self-understanding. This process promotes personal psychological healing and growth, which in turn contributes to improved social relationships and the creation of harmonious communities. Thus, the concept of roles has become more than just a theatrical tool, but a key ele- ment in the healing of individuals and society. This thesis focuses on this notion of role and identifies the therapeutic properties of applied theater. In doing so, it discussed the possibility of applied thea- ter's social function as a non-aesthetic expressive tool. In particular, it examined how individuals and groups who have experienced psychological trauma experience emotional healing and recovery through theater, with particular attention to its function as a medium of healing and recovery. In do- ing so, the study confirmed the therapeutic function of applied theater in contemporary society and its potential as a non-aesthetic tool of expression.
