가상현실을 활용한 한국어 교육 시스템 개발의 실제 - ‘다문화 커뮤니케이션 시각으로 개발된 가상 시뮬레이션 한국어 교육 시스템’을 중심으로 -

초록

The purpose of this paper is to share the reality of developing a Korean language education system using virtual reality. The theoretical background applied to this system was developed from a multicultural communication perspective based on situational awareness theory and Outcome-based Program Development design principles. The development process was completed over a period of one and a half years and consisted of preliminary research and team formation, unit and content construction, script and activity development, recording and technical development, and implementation and testing stages. Based on the results of a survey and interviews conducted with 25 students prior to development, four units and ten scenes were selected with a focus on multicultural communication. These include various cultural aspects such as an overview of Korea, Jeju folk culture, traditional costumes, food culture, historical landmarks like Jeonju, Korean palaces, job interviews, Seoul National University(main gate), Gyeongbokgung Palace, and the history of Sino-Korean exchanges. After developing the education system, an experimental study was conducted with a total of 121 Korean language learners, and surveys and interviews were conducted based on their experiences. The results indicated that the system can improve students’ cross-cultural communication abilities and Korean language proficiency.
