초록
In the process of analyzing Tracey Lett's August: Osage County character "Jin," the character's characteristics were analyzed based on DSM-5 (mental disability diagnosis and statistical manual), and Katie Mitchell's improvisation was used to explore the transcription of characters that were not revealed in the play. Jin's behavior is sensitive, sharp, and she continues to hide her true feelings. It can be seen that these behaviors are limited to her parents and have opposite attitudes toward other characters. Jin's behavior has a pattern of repeating such extreme and unconventional behavior. As a result of analyzing the relationship with her parents and the character's behavior with DSM-5 by finding a clear cause of Jin's behavior, the characteristics of Jin's behavior disorder were confirmed. This study is significant in that it analyzes the character's characteristics based on the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, establishes an unscripted transcription through Katie Mitchell's improvisation, and presents a practical methodology for role creation by expanding it to improvisation.
