초록

This study aimed to examine the current status and conditions of social work practicum, a core subject in the social work major, and explore the experiences and perceptions of practicum among students on four-year colleges of lifelong education. This study conducted an online survey of 54 students and a focus group interview with five students. The findings suggested that the practicum schedule varied during the summer semester, and external environmental factors, such as the schedule and the student’s place of residence, were mainly considered when choosing the practicum placement. Second, all competencies were found to be strengthened after the practicum. Third, qualitative findings yielded seven themes regarding the experiences and perceptions of practicum and 25 subcategories. Lastly, this study highlighted the importance of providing flexible and functional social work practicum according to the characteristics of lifelong learners.
