인문계 대학생의 학교만족도 향상을 위한 IPA 분석 연구

초록

This study aims to provide implications for universities facing the challenges of a declining school-age population and an increasing dropout rate among enrolled students in establishing student recruitment and mid-to-long-term survival strategies. To this end, this research sought to identify the factors influencing the school satisfaction of humanities and social sciences undergraduate students and to derive key tasks for improving their satisfaction. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 256 humanities and social sciences students enrolled at Dongguk University in Seoul, and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was applied to evaluate each factor based on its importance and performance. The analysis revealed that major satisfaction, career programs, faculty competency, and convenience facilities were all in the quadrant of high importance and high performance, suggesting that continuous investment is needed to maintain their current levels. On the other hand, the curriculum of major courses and administrative services were identified as key factors requiring urgent improvement to enhance school satisfaction, as their performance was low relative to their high importance. Educational facility satisfaction, scholarship system satisfaction, and general education courses were found to be in the low importance and low performance quadrant. Conversely, student counseling was in the quadrant of low importance and high performance, indicating that additional resource investment may not be necessary. Based on these findings, it is recommended that universities with a focus on humanities and social sciences concentrate their efforts on improving the curriculum of major courses and administrative services to increase student school satisfaction. The significance of this study lies in its presentation of practical strategies that educational institutions can immediately implement by focusing on factors that universities can improve through their own resource investment.
