The goal of capsule endoscopy in the future is to observe the entire digestive tract from the mouth to the anus. If active control of capsule endoscopy, accurate localization of lesions, endoscopic treatment, and interpretation of results by artificial intelligence becomes possible, wireless capsule endoscopes will be able to replace wired endoscopes in the future. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2022.
