한국한자음 [유]ju계열에 대응하는 일본한자음

초록

Because the main layers of Sino Korean and Sino Japanese Go’on and Kan’on are both based on the Middle Chinese phonological system, Sino Korean and Sino Japanese Go’on and Kan’on show systematic correspondences. Learners can use these correspondence rules effectively when studying Sino Japanese. This study examined the correspondences between Sino-Japanese and 93 Chinese characters whose Sino-Korean readings are in the [유]ju series, as listed in Japan’s Joyo Kanji Table (2010), and assessed learning methods based on these results. The findings are as follows. 1)Among the characters with the Sino Korean [유]ju (78 characters), the corresponding Sino Japanese are: iu>juu(17 cases), ju(7), u(4), i(4), jui(3), jou(2), ui(1), and ei(1). 2)For the Sino Korean [융]juŋ (4 characters), the corresponding Sino Japanese are iu>juu(2 cases) and jou(2). 3)For the Sino Korean [육]juk (4 characters), the corresponding Sino Japanese are iku(3 cases) and oku(1). 4)For the Sino Korean [윤]jun (5 characters), the corresponding Sino Japanese are iN(4 cases) and oN(1). 5)For the Sino Korean [율]jul (2 characters), the corresponding Sino Japanese are itsu(2 cases) and ichi(1). These results confirm that the Korean Sino-reading [유]ju generally corre sponds to juu [juː], which developed from iu, rather than to ju in Sino Japanese. Similarly, the Korean Sino-reading [융]juŋ was adapted as iu>juu in the open syllable structure of Japanese. Therefore, both [유]ju and [융]juŋ correspond to iu>juu in Sino Japanese. Furthermore, the correspondences [육]juk to iku, [윤]jun to iN, and [율]jul to itsu or ichi show that these consonant forms developed because palatalized sounds such as jun were not present in the early stages of Japanese adaptation of Chinese characters. Establishing these correspondence rules and presenting them visually for im age-based training would provide an effective learning method.
