전략관계적 국가이론의 정치생태학적 의의와 한계
초록
This paper analyzes the political-ecological significance and limitations of the strategic-relational state theory. While the theory has provided a powerful analytical framework for understanding modern capitalist states and has had a significant impact on the South Korean social sciences, it has paid relatively little attention to the relationship between the state and nature, revealing an epistemological limitation rooted in anthropocentrism. Starting from Bob Jessop’s recent engagement with political ecology, this study examines subsequent efforts to conceptualize the state–nature relationship more concretely. It further explores the theoretical potential of the more-than-human state theory as an alternative to anthropocentric frameworks and discusses the challenges of integrating this emerging perspective with key components of the strategic-relational approach. This paper aims to reinterpret and extend the strategic-relational state theory from a political-ecological perspective, thereby contributing to critical analyses of state–nature relations.
