한국한자음 [우]u에 대응하는 일본한자음
초록
In this paper, I analyze the correspondence between Sino Korean and Sino Japanese for 96 characters in the List of Commonly Used Kanji (2010) that correspond to the Korean reading [우]u. The results are summarized as follows: The 41 cases in which Korean [우]u corresponds to Japanese juu reflect a vowel sequence iu that was lengthened. The rhyme You(尤) type A and rhyme Yu(虞) type A were realized as [유]ju in Korean readings and as iu>juu in Japanese readings. Alveolar sounds a monophthongization process occurred changing ju>u in Korean. The 25 cases where Korean [우]u corresponds to Japanese ou mostly belong to the rhyme Hou(侯)əu. The 21 cases where Korean [우]u corresponds to Japanese ju mainly belong to the rhyme Yu(虞) type A and You(尤) type A. Both rhymes were reflected as [유]ju in Korean, but monophthongization(ju>u) occurred in alveolar sounds. The 15 cases where Korean [우]u corresponds to Japanese ui mostly belong to the rhyme Zhi(脂) type A and the rhyme Zhi(支) type A.
