영규대사와 800의승 현양 사업의 과제와 전망

초록

This discussion examines how the flow of remembrance of leader of the righteous monks Yeonggyu, who died in the Battle of Geumsan with 800 righteous monks during the Imjin War, has been formed. We will examine how the remembrance of the great master Yeonggyu and the 800 righteous monks continued in the late Joseon Dynasty and share our thoughts on how to honor and inherit their spirit. This can be an opportunity to examine the characteristics of Korean Buddhism in dealing with specific practitioners of patriotic Buddhism. In this discussion, suggestions were made for the promotion project for the great master Yeonggyu and 800 righteous monks who protected the country. First, we suggested the following measures: firmly establishing an organization to promote the spirit and value of the Buddhist monks who protected the country, establishing mid- to long-term prospects and policies, establishing a digital archive of Buddhist monks who protected the country, developing realistic content that allows people to experience the lives of Buddhist monks who protected the country, establishing a human resources training system that can take charge of developing and utilizing sustainable Buddhist Buddhist content, and restoring the hierarchy of the base space where people can experience the country. This is only the starting point for discussions on the promotion project. We who live today should make sincere efforts to inherit the spirit of Buddhist monks who protected the country and promote it like our ancestors. Furthermore, we should share our wisdom and hearts with many people who share the same purpose.
