중국 고대 여성작가 문학관의 전시 내러티브 분석 - 성도(成都) 설도기념관(薛濤紀念館)을 중심으로

This study analyzes the exhibition narrative structure of a literary museum dedicated to an ancient Chinese female writer, focusing on the Xue Tao Memorial Hall located in Wangjianglou Park, Chengdu. While previous studies on Xue Tao have primarily concentrated on her biography and poetic works, this research examines how her literature is spatially represented and narrativized within a museum context. By tracing the visitors’ circulation route that connects the outdoor park space and the indoor exhibition halls, the study explores how Xue Tao’s life and literary identity are arranged, visualized, and contextualized within a coherent narrative framework. The exhibition begins in the park landscape, proceeds through the indoor biographical and thematic displays, and extends again into the surrounding historic architectural spaces. This spatial progression constructs a layered narrative structure: presenting the figure, exploring her works, and expanding into broader urban and cultural contexts. Through this design, Xue Tao’s literature is experienced not as a fixed textual product but as a dynamic process of formation, development, and expansion. The integration of textual panels, visual imagery, and multimedia devices further enhances sensory engagement and narrative immersion. However, this spatially oriented narrative approach has limitations in providing an in-depth aesthetic analysis of individual works. Nevertheless, the Xue Tao Memorial Hall repositions women’s literature within the broader framework of urban cultural memory and offers a meaningful model for exhibiting ancient female writers. This study thus suggests the potential for expanding literary research into spatial and exhibition-based dimensions.
