Bifactor 모형을 적용한 한국판 Beck Anxiety Inventory(K-BAI) 요인구조 검증: 정신건강의학과 환자를 대상으로

Numerous studies have attempted to elucidate the psychometric properties of the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI); however, opinions regarding the number of factors and structure remain inconsistent. Many studies support a multidimensional structure. Nevertheless, in practical administration and interpretation, individual subscale scores are not calculated, and only the total sum score is utilized. This study aimed to verify the validity of using the total score by applying a bifactor model to examine the factor structure of the Korean version of the BAI (K-BAI) administered to 355 psychiatric patients. Results showed that a bifactor model including a general anxiety factor and two group factors (somatic anxiety and subjective anxiety) best explained the collected data. Furthermore, based on bifactor indices, findings suggest that the K-BAI possesses a strong general factor of anxiety and that using the total score is valid.
