중국 신구 주선율영화의 표현기법 비교 분석: 주선율영화<저격수>, <상감령>을 중심으로

초록

Since the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the Chinese Communist Party has played a significant role in the development of Chinese cinema. Propaganda films, as a means to promote socialist values and the superiority of socialism, have become essential in conveying the party's message. These films have evolved over time and adapted to the changing sociocultural landscape. This paper examines the development of Chinese propaganda films, highlighting their distinct characteristics throughout different historical periods. Looking through the developmental trajectory of Chinese propaganda films, it is not hard to discern its distinct characteristics reflective of different eras. These core spirits and value orientations of the times are communicated through specific cinematic expression method, thereby achieving the ultimate goal of promoting mainstream values, constructing national ideology, and disseminating the national image. This paper defines and introduces the significance of contemporary Chinese propaganda films and conducts a comparative analysis of “Ode to Gallantry” (1956) and “Sniper” (2022), both of which are set during the Korean War. It examines the differences in cinematic techniques, character portrayal, narrative methods, and camera language between the two films. By doing so, the study sheds light on the challenges faced by contemporary Chinese propaganda films and offers insights into their future prospects.
