As Hallyu drama capture the imagination of audiences around the world, they are becoming a site of cultural negotiation at the intersection of local and global influences. This paper explores how these changes are shaping the future of Hallyu drama and what they mean for the global content industry as a whole. Through a critical examination of the new narratives, themes, and production strategies emerging in Hallyu drama, this study aims to shed light on the complex dynamics driving the transformation of one of the most influential genres in contemporary global media. The paper explores the historical trajectory of Hallyu drama, tracing their rise from niche content in South Korea to mainstream global entertainment. It examines the key factors that contributed to their international success. This provides a foundation for understanding the context in which contemporary changes are occurring. The paper also considers the role of technological advancements and the proliferation of streaming services in facilitating these changes.
