동시대 미술에서 협업의 네트워크가 전시에 미치는 시너지 효과 -연구자의 전시를 위한 협업의 경험을 중심으로-
초록
Traditional art has long emphasized the finished work as the manifestation of an artist’s singular, independent visual language. In contrast, contemporary art often foregrounds collaborative processes, engaging curators, graphic designers, technicians, spatial designers, and fabricators to create works that transcend media boundaries. Such collaboration among specialists, aimed at refining complex, multilayered works, demonstrates contemporary art’s flexibility and potential to operate across disciplines. This study seeks to reflect the evolving dynamics of contemporary art by analyzing cases of collaboration from the researcher’s solo and group exhibitions, with a focus on the synergy generated by collaborative networks within exhibition-making. Rather than viewing collaborators as merely supporting the production of artworks, this research positions them as active agents who offer new aesthetic insights and possibilities to the artist. It analyzes the process of close communication between the artist and these agents, working together toward the shared goal of completing the artwork. Bruno Latour’s Actor-Network Theory (ANT) serves as a conceptual framework for exploring the in terrelationships between the artist and various actors, and for examining how their collaboration influences both the exhibition and the integrity of the finished work. From Latour’s perspective, such collaboration and relational engagement not only shape the artist’s own creative system as an autonomous subject but also represent a dynamic site where a network of diverse actors—including both human and non-human participants—interact to produce a shared outcome. This study analyzes the researcher’s actual exhibition cases to examine the interactions among various actors throughout the process from planning to completion.
