초록
Until now, the actors’ psychological pain has not received much attention. However, due to the re- cent diversification of content and increased interest in mental health, the spectrum of roles has ex- panded, and the perception that pays attention to the actors’ psychological pain has been changed. This study aims to contribute to the discussion of such a trend as a quantitative study. In this study, an online or offline survey was conducted for about a month for leading and supporting actors work- ing in Korea. 317 out of 416 responses were analyzed. First, the frequency was measured to inves- tigate the general characteristics of the actors. Next, using the T test, it was examined whether there were differences in the scores of depression, problematic drinking, and eating disorders depending on whether the actors played a villain or a non-villain role in their recent work. According to the results of the study, when the type of role played by an actor in a recent work was a villain, a relatively high level of depression was reported compared to a non-villain. In addition, the villain showed more problematic drinking behavior and eating disorder symptoms than the non-villain. This suggests that the actors’ personalization of the creating role process may be related to the expression of post-trau- matic stress disorder and exposure to indirect trauma due to the re-experience of trauma. Considering that actors experience high levels of emotional problems and problem behaviors, it is necessary to develop and apply educational programs related to recognition and response to psycho- logical problems and to establish institutional measures in the future.
