노인의 신체기능 제한(ADL, IADL) 정도가 노인주거시설 이용 욕구에 미치는 영향: 공적돌봄과 가족 돌봄의 매개효과를 중심으로

초록

This study was to analyze the effect of ADL and IADL disability levels on the elderly's needs for residential care facilities and the mediating effect of public care and family care. Data were derived from the 2017 National Survey of Older Koreans of 2,902 elderly with ADL or IADL disability. After controlling for socioeconomic characteristics, the higher the ADL and IADL disability level, the lower the needs for residential care facilities. Public care and family care utilization was negatively associated with the needs of residential care facilities. While public care utilization was found to mediate the effect of both ADL and IADL disability levels on the need for residential care facilities, family care mediated only the relationship between IADL disability level and such need. This findings imply that it is necessary to develop residential care facilities for older adults with mild and moderate difficulties of ADL and IADL disability.
