인공지능 퍼포먼스에 나타나는 혼성적 미학 특성 연구 - 현존과 아우라를 중심으로

초록

Artificial intelligence(AI) performances transcend traditional artistic experiences, offering new forms of aesthetic encounters. Audiences can interact with AI, becoming part of the performance or actively participating in the creative process. This novel aesthetic experience opens dimensions distinct from conventional art appreciation methods, holding the potential to fundamentally transform how audiences engage with performances. Therefore, to embrace and expand the horizons of new art forms such as AI performances, it is crucial to clearly articulate the new aesthetic experiences they generate. In this context, this paper seeks to interpret the aesthetic experiences found in AI performances by discussing new artistic forms through the theoretical concepts of presence and aura. Since AI performances can be approached through both performance aesthetics and media aesthetics, a flexible perspective that incorporates both approaches is necessary. Thus, this paper will first examine the concept of material-based presence and media-based telepresence, followed by a brief exploration of the hybrid presence evident in AI performances. Subsequently, it will discuss aura in performance aesthetics and aura in media aesthetics, concluding with an analysis of the hybrid aura present in AI performances.
